Liam had a bit of a rough start this week. On Tuesday, after Dad spent weeks trying to convince mom that circumcision was the best option for young Liam's future, he was taken to The Birth Center for the procedure. No, the midwives did not perform the circ., a trained pediatrician did it. Mom was praying for her poor baby the entire time he was in the back. After the procedure was done, the pediatrician handed our son to us and said that everything went fine and now his hoo-hoo looks like a red crayola crayon. Poor baby. Despite how painful it looked after it was done, Liam bounced back quickly and acted as though nothing happened.
Dad went back to work this week, but Nana Jeannie came up for a few days to help out. She made excellent meals every night and loved every second she spent with her new grandson. She was a big help.
Camille and Liam are getting along great. Camille sneaks him kisses every now and then on his face.
He and Mom have almost mastered the art of breastfeeding. He's already gained about a pound since his birth, which means that he's getting enough food. I should hope so. It has become a full time job. Thankfully, he lets us sleep for about a 4-5 hour block during the night.
The picture on top is Liam posing with his first ever large 'Bobbie' from Capriotti's - compliments of his grandmother MJ. (For those of you in the dark, a 'Bobbie' is Thanksgiving dinner on a roll. It has been a favorite of ours since boarding school days.) Although he can only eat them through breastmilk now, we know he's going to be a big fan of Capriotti's once his teeth come in.

What a beautiful boy! My cousin Meredith Blake directed me to your blog. I think I met you and Liam in the new mom's group at Ali's Wagon. If so, I'm Miriam, Luke's mom. Look forward to seeing you again, perhaps w/ Meredith in tow!
